Easter baskets

The boys have been into using my gardening tools lately so I got them some of their own. They also got some cars from the movie "Cars". Pepper got some teething toys, a pinwheel, and a flower headband.

Skylar and Niko did great looking for eggs. It took Niko a little bit to get the hang of it, but once he got the idea, he did a good job hunting!

Skylar took a quantum leap forward with playing baseball today. Here are some of the things that really clicked into place for him today: how to stand correctly at home plate; how to run the bases (after hitting, drop the bat, touch each base in order, stop on a base to be safe, let someone else hit to advance you further); his hitting was very very good with 3 good hits in a row, and a general average around .400 (when Daddy made a decent pitch); what "out" means (and safe); making it to home is the goal (and yes, it's more urgent than picking up your bat); how the baseball diamond is configured; what's a foul ball vs a fair ball.

Guy was amazed at Skylar's proficiency with the whole sport by the end of the day. He wants nothing to do with the tee... he just wants real pitches. They stuck with playing it for perhaps an hour.

Meanwhile Niko played on the swings and did a little soccer and a little golf.

I was able to get the garden all weeded out and planted. I put in corn, pumpkins, basil, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, strawberries, watermelon, & cantaloupe. Skylar helped some and Niko "helped" a bit later.

Quite a day!
