| The bronze Indian statue |
|
The picture above is part of a funny story about our Niko. There is a very curious statue in our local Tandoori Oven, an Indian restaurant we visit on occasion. Its purpose is to serve up the traditional mint-purposed snacky stuff that some Indian restaurants have. As you can see it's a bit risque. Well, one evening when we were waiting in line, Niko spent several minutes seriously checking this thing out from all angles. On its pedestal it is a few inches taller than he is. He was looking at its eyes, checking out its attire, and yes, he touched its breasts. He looked at it high and low and front and back. Finally he stood close beside it facing the room just like it was, and he stayed there with a sort of pondering look on his face for several seconds. Then all in a sudden he reached out and gave the statue one quick smack on the butt and then skipped away to where Mommy had gotten us a table. Hilarious!
That's our Niko! I'm not sure just what it means, but perhaps to help with the mystery, here are a few more shots of him from the last several weeks.

| Niko likes our board game, "Max", but he doesn't fully understand how to play it yet. On this night he got it out, took it over to the table and set it up all by himself. He even had the pieces pretty much deployed in their proper starting positions and he took up the process of rolling the dice. I like his hair in this picture. |

| Same night with the Max game... he put his unders on all by himself and this is how it ended up. He was pretty proud of himself, and since bedtime was pretty soon anyway, we decided to let them be. |

| When decorating holiday gingerbread cookies, for Niko form follows function, and he goes for the gusto with as much candy as he can manage to stick on there. |
 |
| Several weeks back when the weather was better. |

| Last time at the beach in Santa Cruz. |

| When given a chance to play dress up, here's how Niko played it. |
