Yesterday garden box #2 rolled off the assembly line. This one probably took a grand total of less than 8 hours to build including all the set up, clean up, and steps required to do it all by just one person. It's about 2-3 inches larger in diameter than the prototype and "cleaner" in many ways. What remains is to deploy it, meaning preparing the space, setting it into the dirt, hooking in the irrigation, and installing the bench tops.
Meanwhile a much more meaty project is in the planning phases. The planning is a very large part of the effort because there's so much to learn from code limitations to product selection. This plan will see the asbestos removed from the entire place, the water heater moved to a new location with a lot of updated infrastructure running to it, and the installation of a new hydronic heating system. Logistics and the need to keep systems up and running as much as possible make very detailed planning a must. Modifications will probably begin within 1 or 2 months.

Maybe you could just send Meaghann to come live with me during construction. Can't wait to hear all about this heating system. Asbestos?
