Niko has been impressing us lately with his coordination. A few weeks back we posted a note that Niko would walk behind Skylar as Skylar motored carefully along through the house on the walker-dumptruck. That was pretty cool but now they've gone one better. Now Skylar puts his feet up on the fenders and Niko does all the work, pushing Skylar around from one end of the house to the other.

They both thought it was pretty cool, and times like these are teaching them to share the spotlight in new ways. We hope that's a trend that continues to develop because with a third on the way, it's probably gonna be important that they learn to do great things, and take credit, together. This lesson is of course especially important and difficult for Skylar to learn because he's known the feeling of undivided attention from two doting parents who, as much as they might like to, will not have as much of that level of attention available in general.
Niko meanwhile just takes his catch-up mission very seriously. He seems determined and almost impatient to learn to do everything his brother can do ASAP. He's always been very skilled with his hands and his coordination in general has been amazing since day one. He seems very close to being able to stand on his own already, and has been pretty good at walking at a good clip with only one hand to help. He just might be walking before 10 months, but we'll see.
I feel so blessed to have two great kids. I feel privileged to know them and glad I get front row seats to the first few years of their lives.
