Skylar turned 4. Hard to believe that just four short years ago he came into this world and forever changed our lives.

Skylar is very much into rainbows right now. He likes all the colors so rainbow it is.
He asked for rainbow cake. so with a little frosting and an hour we pulled together a rainbow cake, he helped decorate and make it.
As of his 4th birthday, Skylar is quite an exceptional boy. He's about 45" tall and 50 pounds, about the size of an average 6 or 7 yr old. He writes words and sentences legibly, and he reads well, quickly recognizing most 3-letter words and some larger words, able to work out those he doesn't know one letter at a time. He's an accomplished bicycle rider, and good enough at following instructions that we can trust him to ride safely with us on sidewalks and trails. On a good day he is an excellent leader among his siblings happily showing them the way to behave in public. He is still ambidextrous, and has been known to write a single line of text changing hands at the midpoint. Perhaps even more striking is that when he gets to the end of writing a line, sometimes he drops down a line but then begins writing right to left in mirror image, each letter reversed. He's very good at logic and reasoning when he has a calm head, and he thinks up lots of good creative solutions to problems, laying out plans for how we or he might proceed. He has a natural gift for presenting his point of view in a convincing way.
